Biden mistakenly disses 49ers in SF

Giants fans undoubtedly are hoping Vice President Joe Biden's words prove to be prophetic. Fans of the 49ers might be thinking something else.
According to published reports, Biden, who has a history of gaffes, heard boos Wednesday when he told a gathering at a campaign event in San Francisco that the "Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl.''
During his talk he mentioned football and fumbled through his prediction about Sunday's NFC Championship Game. But he quickly realized his mistake and apologized, explaining he sometimes cites the success the San Francisco baseball Giants have had. He went on to talk about the ''49ers on their way'' to the big game.
