Victor Cruz challenged Giants ownership, and it sounds as if they are going to follow his lead.

The wide receiver posted a clip online this weekend in which he took the ALS "Ice Bucket Challenge." He dump a bucket of cold water over his head and shared the video. As part of the deal, Cruz got to pass the challenge along to others and he chose team co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch.

"I think there's going to be an Ice Bucket Challenge right here before practice from one of our owners or somebody closely related to the owner," Cruz said on Monday morning. "We'll see what happens, but that's what I'm hearing. So we'll see."

Mara accepted Cruz's challenge Monday, with the video posted to Mara then nominated Jets owner Woody Johnson and Patriots owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick to take the challenge as well.

The ice bucket challenge is meant to raise awareness for ALS. As part of the social media campaign, those who are nominated and choose not to post a video are asked to donate $100 to ALS research.

Cruz was happy to help support the cause that so many have taken part in through social media. He did have one complaint, though.

"That water was cold, man," he said.

It wouldn't be much of a challenge if it wasn't.
