Grossman is Redskins' No. 1 QB
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has named Rex Grossman the starting quarterback heading into the regular season. His first assignment: home to the Giants on Sunday afternoon at FedEx Field.
Grossman beat out John Beck, who seemed to have the edge going into training camp but lost ground throughout the preseason. Shanahan pointed out at his press conference moments ago that Grossman did a better job with his checks at the line of scrimmage, as well as his overall familiarity with the system.
Grossman joined the Redskins last year.
