No. 9) JERRY JONES

There is no Cowboys player ? not T.O. nor Flozell ? Giants fans love to hate quite as much as owner Jerry Jones. That made victories such as the one in the 2007 playoffs and the one this season in the first game at Cowboys Stadium particularly sweet.

Well, that didn’t take long.

Cowboys outspoken owner Jerry Jones fired the latest salvo in the longstanding rivalry with the Giants, telling fans on Monday at a ceremony to signal the start of training camp in Oxnard, Calif. that his Cowboys are ready to beat the defending Super Bowl champions.

“Y'all should come to Cowboys Stadium and watch us beat the Giants' a--es," Jones said. The Cowboys actually face the Giants in the opener, but that game is at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 5 to kick off the 2012 season. The Giants visit Dallas on Oct. 28.

If the Cowboys do beat New York in Dallas, it will be the first time they’ve beaten the Giants at Cowboys Stadium. Eli Manning’s Giants are 3-0 at Jones’ palatial football digs.

The Giants beat the Cowboys in the regular season finale to clinch the NFC East and qualify for the playoffs. The Giants then ran the table in the postseason to win the fourth Super Bowl title in franchise history.

While Jones wasn’t afraid to open his mouth, Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, twin brother of Jets head coach Rex Ryan, said he’ll keep a lower profile this season.

“Day 1, I’m not calling anybody out,” Ryan said. “I’ve learned. This is a bigger media than some of the other spots that I've been, so I'm going to keep my mouth shut and work.”

Hmmm. Not sure how long that radio silence will last. After all, he is Rex’s brother and Buddy’s son. Can’t stay quiet forever.
