FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- As Rex Ryan checked off the Jets' extensive injury report Tuesday, he mentioned one name that wasn't expected:

"Darrelle Revis was limited today," Ryan said. "He had a knee. Don't worry, he's playing. I'm not even going to make the trip if Darrelle doesn't go."

Revis is going, and so is Ryan. But it's unclear if LaDainian Tomlinson (sprained knee) will board the plane when the Jets fly to Denver for tomorrow's game against the Broncos.

"I would hope so," Tomlinson said. "But at the same time, I'm sure Rex has a couple of ideas of what he wants to see before we leave. Hopefully, I can do everything I need to do to convince him one way or the other."

With a short week, it's possible the Jets will let Tomlinson rest and use rookie running back Bilal Powell to help spell Shonn Greene.

"I'm excited," Powell said. "I've been waiting all season and my chance is here."

Safety Brodney Pool (knee) is out after getting a cortisone injection. Wide receivers Jeremy Kerley (knee) and Patrick Turner (kidney) also did not practice and might not make the trip. Eron Riley would fill in.

Kerley, when asked how he's feeling, said: "I feel hurt."

Fightin' words

Santonio Holmes on what the Jets need to accomplish this week:

"Punching these guys in the mouth from the time the clock strikes from the first minute . . . I think getting after those guys really early is going to be the big key. Not giving them the opportunity to feel like they're involved in this game as much as they want to be."

Short take

Ryan laughed off a question about whether it was unfair for the Jets to have to play in Denver Thursday after hosting the Patriots on Sunday night.

"They definitely did it on purpose to mess with the Jets," he joked. "No, that's not what happened. It's just the way it is. These are games that if you win, you feel great that they're on your schedule. If you lose, then it was terrible."

Brunell as Tebow

Mark Brunell, who was once a running QB but is now 41, has been playing Tim Tebow on the scout team.

"I don't know if it's possible for me to simulate Tebow, but I gave it my best," he said. Asked what they have in common, Brunell said: "I'm lefthanded and he is lefthanded. And that's about it."
