FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Jack Del Rio was in a thankful mood Wednesday.
The Jaguars' coach is glad he has two of Rex Ryan's former Jets in his secondary, both of whom played pivotal roles in a victory over the Titans last Sunday. Safety Dwight Lowery, acquired in a Sept. 3 trade, intercepted quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to seal the win.
Drew Coleman, playing nickel back, collected five tackles and a sack. Coleman signed with Jacksonville as a free agent while the Jets were heavily involved in the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes.
"They're good," Del Rio said. "They've been well schooled. Rex and those guys up there did a nice job . . . They have such good numbers in their secondary, they were able to let us have a couple. So we appreciate that."
Harris hurting
Tackling machine David Harris didn’t practice, sitting out with a toe injury. However, Ryan didn’t sound overly concerned about the linebacker’s status for Sunday.
“We expect him back,” Ryan said.
The Jets plan on wearing their blue throwback Titans uniforms against the Jaguars.
"I know with our fans, there is some grumbling going on with us wearing the Titans stuff, the blue," Ryan said. "We are 4-1 in those blue uniforms, so anything for a win. It doesn't matter if it was purple, we'd be wearing purple.
"I think our players kind of like it."
Extra points
Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis (calf) sat out practice and his status is unknown until Friday."He's doing OK," Del Rio said. "He was held out today and we'll see how the rest of the week goes, and if we'll get him for Sunday."
