Jets receiver Braylon Edwards, who was due in New York Criminal Court Tuesday on DWI charges stemming from an arrest last Sept. 21, has been granted an adjournment until March 7. While Edwards prepares for the team's next playoff game, against New England on Sunday, his lawyer requested and received the postponement until after the season.

Edwards' attorney, Peter Frankel, previously confirmed discussions of a possible plea deal in the case - one of several possible outcomes, including dismissal of the charges, acquittal or conviction. The change in his court date was first reported early by ESPNNewYork.com.

Edwards, 27, faces two counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and one for driving while impaired, with a maximum penalty of up to a year in jail. Five days after his September arrest, Edwards was benched for the first quarter of the Jets' 31-23 win over Miami.

Woody, Smith hurting

The Jets had their full complement of key players available for Saturday's AFC wild-card win over the Colts, but it's unclear if that will be the case when they visit the Patriots.

Rex Ryan is unsure of the status of Damien Woody (knee) and Brad Smith (groin). Woody, the Jets' starting right tackle, was playing in his first game in a month after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Smith, the invaluable kick returner and wide receiver who runs the Jets' Wildcat package, suffered his injury in the first quarter and played only briefly after that, returning a kickoff 18 yards in the third quarter.

"Damien came through," Ryan said. "His knee is OK. We'll see. He was kind of wobbling around a little bit. We'll see if he's able to go or not."
