FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — It’s no longer the same old Jets — locker room, that is.
The Jets unveiled their new start-of-the-art locker room in their training facility on Tuesday when their players reported for training camp. The fully renovated room features 92 customized lockers and other amenities, including a barbershop and a larger sauna that replaced a steam room.
In the middle of the locker room, there is an approximately 2,000-pound, 230-square foot three-dimensional Jets logo on the ceiling with over 500 lights.
The team provided a video tour of the locker room on the Jets’ official website. Edge rusher Jermaine Johnson also posted video of the locker room on social media and called it “cold-blooded” as he walked through it.

“Oh, it's unbelievable,” defensive tackle Quinnen Williams said. “It's super nice. Unbelievable. It's super dope.”
The Jets said the locker room's transformation had been years in the making, but these upgrades came months after the Jets received a D-plus for their locker room in the annual report card from the NFL Players’ Association. The Jets opened the facility in 2008.
The team has undergone a major facelift across the board. The Jets have a new head coach (Aaron Glenn), general manager (Darren Mougey) and starting quarterback (Justin Fields).
They are trying to end a 14-year playoff drought, the longest active streak in the four major professional sports. They’re hoping the attitude, leadership and culture change that Glenn is bringing as well as improved working conditions lead to better overall performance.
Williams, who is entering his seventh season with the Jets, praised owner Woody Johnson not only for the locker room redo but for committing more than $175 million in guaranteed money in extensions for young players Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson last week.
“This organization and Woody as an owner want to see this team be successful,” Williams said, “[They] want to see this team go in the right direction when it comes down to winning football games, when it comes down to being a healthy environment, [and] when it comes down to doing the necessary things to put the players in the position to win football games.
"You just take your hat off to that and just know that you got an owner that stands behind you and wants to see you be great on the field [and] off the field.”
Each locker is equipped with electronically controlled video screens that features the player’s head shot, name, hometown and college. The Jets said they’re the first professional or college team with fully automated video displays in their lockers.
The lockers also have three separate fans for shoulder pads and helmets to dry the equipment. The barbershop features two vintage black chairs from the 1950s.

Williams said it feels like he’s in a new place.
“It’s like when you renovate your house and you walk through your house for the first time,” He said. “I was here six years and now it's the year that I get a new locker room. So it's unbelievable to see the past and now the present.”
