FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Kerry Rhodes wasn't sure what to expect and was hoping for the best when he hit the practice field Friday.

After hurting his right knee Thursday, the Jets safety had no clue how his injury would respond. But he practiced fully Friday and didn't report any discomfort or anything that would limit or restrict him in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Colts in Indianapolis.

"It was cool, it was OK," Rhodes said. "I ran around on it today. It felt good."

Rhodes said he banged knees with a wide receiver teammate - he declined to say which one - in practice, which limited him and forced him to get treatment. He had an Ace bandage wrapping his entire right leg after Thursday's practice but didn't wear one Friday.

"It was freakish, but like I said, I'll be ready," Rhodes said. "There aren't going to be any excuses Sunday, so I'll be good."

Time for takeoff

The Jets are encouraging fans to come out to their training facility Saturday to form good-luck lines for team personnel as they board buses and prepare to travel to the airport for their charter flight to Indianapolis. With the Jets needing one more victory to play in the Super Bowl for the first time in 41 years, the plan is to distribute "Win and We're In!" rally towels among those fans who attend.

The address is 1 Jets Drive, Florham Park, N.J. Gates open at 10 a.m.
