FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Tony Romo noticed something a little different during practice this week

The Cowboys' quarterback saw a few new wrinkles in Rob Ryan's defensive game plan for the Jets, things that weren't in place initially. Apparently, Rex Ryan's twin brother felt the need to tweak his scheme because the Jets claimed safety Andrew Sendejo off waivers from Dallas on Sunday.

"It's funny because Rob had a defense already put in for the Jets, a bunch of stuff in," Romo said Wednesday. "Then when the Jets got Andrew Sendejo, he ended up switching a lot of that stuff up. So I thought that was pretty interesting when I was watching the defensive side of the ball here this week.

"I've never seen that before. So I think there's a little cat-mouse game there for sure."

Romo hasn't faced the Jets before, but he thinks he has an idea of how good their defense is after watching some film.

"They are a great group," Romo said. "Obviously, they have great corners, a great coaching staff. They do a lot of different stuff. Communication will be different up there. We are going to have to communicate well. We are going to see a lot of Cover-2 man against them.

"They use a lot of two-high safeties and play man-under coverage. They are going to throw some zone at us."

Rex warns 'Boys fans

Whenever the Cowboys play in the New York area, their fans often help pack the stadium, making their presence well known. But Rex Ryan doesn't think it's the wisest move for Cowboys fans to attend Sunday's game, especially if they are sporting Dallas garb.

"I don't know why they'd be here," Ryan said. "They're coming into our stadium. It's probably not recommended that you wear Cowboys stuff, I would think."

Extra points

Fullback John Conner (ankle) was limited in practice, but participated in some team drills. He's still expected to play Sunday . . . Ryan said the Jets staff will wear FDNY hats during the game. The hats will also be on sale at MetLife Stadium and proceeds will go to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
