Anyway, Mark Sanchez had successful left knee surgery today. The Jets quarterback underwent an elective procedure to strengthen and stabilize the ligaments around his patella tendon at Morristown (N.J.) Memorial Hospital.
Sanchez, who’s expected to be ready by training camp, said on his Twitter page earlier today that he was doing fine after the minimally invasive procedure.
Team orthopedists Dr. Kenneth Montgomery and Dr. Elliott Hershman performed the surgery, which should allow Sanchez to play without a brace on the knee for the first time since dislocating his kneecap just before his junior season at USC in August of 2008.
“Doc says it went exceptionally well,” Sanchez wrote. “Thx to Dr Montgomery. Thx to family, friends & tweeps for the love and well wishes.”
