Shielded Sanchez
Mark Sanchez is going to wear a clear visor -- as he did in the second half Sunday -- to help protect the "minor" break in his nose. He got drilled when Kamerion Wimbley sacked him on the dirt infield.
"It feels a lot better now, and we'll just worry about it after the season," Sanchez told 1050 ESPN's "The Michael Kay Show'' yesterday. "It's no big deal."
Sanchez again said that at first he didn't think it was broken. "I thought I had just taken a shot to the eye. Wimbley's going 100 mph and that stuff happens.''
As for responding to former Jet Jason Taylor saying he thinks Miami QB Chad Henne is better than he is, Sanchez said: "If he would have said that last year, I'd be a little upset. But that's what he's supposed to do and he's building Chad up. That's his teammate. I don't care."
Rex returns
Sunday's game will be Rex Ryan's first regular-season visit to Baltimore since he left as Ravens defensive coordinator in January 2009. He spent 10 seasons with the Ravens.
"I love the people in Baltimore,'' he said. "They treated me great, but quite honestly right now, I'm not concerned with them at all. I'm just worried about our football team."
Mending Mangold
The status of All-Pro center Nick Mangold remains up in the air. His 82-game regular-season streak ended Sunday because of a high ankle sprain. When asked Monday if Mangold would play, Ryan said: "We'll see. He's probably day-to-day. I don't think he'll practice Wednesday, but he seems to be progressing. So hopefully, we'll have him back."
