Sterger's attorney has contacted NFL in Favre probe
Jenn Sterger's newly hired attorney said Wednesday it is uncertain whether the former Jets game day hostess will speak with NFL investigators about inappropriate text messages and lewd photos allegedly sent to her in 2008 by former Jets quarterback Brett Favre.
Joseph Conway of the law firm LaRusso & Conway of Mineola told Newsday that he has begun discussions with the NFL, but that no final determination has been made on whether Sterger will speak directly with the league.
"We've been hired to investigate and look into and advise her as far as potential remedies she has, including whether she should speak with the NFL or not," Conway said. "In terms of talking to the NFL, there is a dialogue, but no decisions have been made" about whether Sterger will talk to league investigators.
Favre was interviewed on Tuesday in Minnesota by the NFL's director of security, Milt Ahlerich. Favre has not commented directly on the allegations, and has not issued any denials.
Favre was asked during his weekly news conference in Minnesota about his interview with Ahlerich, but he declined to provide details. "That's a league issue," Favre said. "I'll just have to leave it at that."
Favre returns to Green Bay on Sunday to face his old Packers team.
"I just know my focus is on Green Bay, the next opponent," he said. "As it was last week, the week before. It's a huge challenge for us. I'm trying to just focus solely on that."
Deadspin.com first reported in August that Favre had sent inappropriate texts and photos.
