Jim Schwartz on Bart Scott: "Consider the source"
A few minutes after the Jets' 23-20 overtime win against the Lions on Sunday, linebacker Bart Scott ripped the Lions for what he considered their dirty play. "They're by far the dirtiest football team since I played the Titans," Scott told reporters. "I swear to God I hope I see them again in life."
Titans coach Jim Schwartz was asked about Scott's comments today in his press conference, and Schwartz replied: "Consider the source."
Schwartz then mentioned Jets defensive lineman Trevor Pryce, who hit kicker Jason Hanson on a field goal try that caused Hanson to hurt his right knee. Hanson is likely to miss some time.
"Trevor Pryce sought me out after the game to apologize for getting Jason Hanson hurt," Schwartz said. "To me, that's a very classy player, and it speaks a lot about the Jets and the guys they have."
Schwartz also said Pryce told him he was hit by another player and pushed into Hanson, and that hitting the kicker was an accident.
