Joe Namath, Phil Simms to do Super Bowl's ceremonial coin toss

We’ve known for months that Bruno Mars will be performing during the halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday, but NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy announced Thursday during the halftime press conference that two other big names will be involved in the game day festivities.
Legendary Jets and Giants quarterbacks Joe Namath and Phil Simms will do the ceremonial coin toss before the Seahawks and Broncos kick off.
Namath’s Jets won the coin toss and the game in Super Bowl III. The Giants lost both coin tosses in Super Bowls XXI and XXV but took home the Lombardi Trophy after both.
The coin toss is always a popular prop bet of the Super Bowl. The past five seasons the result has been heads, but the complete history is just about even — with heads landing up 24 times and tails 23. Comparably, the coin toss winner is 23-24 all time in the Super Bowl.
As the visiting team, the Seahawks will call the toss this year.
