- Team facilities open.
- Teams can start renegotiating contracts with players; teams can start signing drafted rookies and their own unrestricted free agents, restricted free agents, exclusive rights players and franchise players.
WEDNESDAY (League year begins)
- Training camps open.
- Free agency and trading periods begin. Teams can sign free agents and other teams' unrestricted free agents.
- Teams must be under the salary cap.
- Rosters expand to 90.
