Luck, Fleener a package deal

ANDREW LUCK
Quarterback, Stanford
With Peyton Manning now in Denver, it would be shocking if Luck wasn’t selected No. 1 overall by the Indianapolis Colts. To put it simply, Luck is a can’t-miss prospect. He is a franchise quarterback with size (6-4, 234) and a golden arm. He has all of the intangibles. His strengths are his accuracy and smarts. Luck is excellent at reading a defense and attacking it. Luck also showed plenty of athleticism at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, running two pretty fast 40 times. In the debate over who’s the better No. 1 – Luck or Robert Griffin III – NFL execs seem to think Luck is the safer pick.

No surprise that Andrew Luck was the first overall choice of the Colts and the successor to Peyton Manning.
But Luck got an unexpected bonus tonight when he found out he'll be joined in Indy by Stanford tight end Coby Fleener. Many had expected Fleener to go in the first round, but he was still on the board heading into tonight's second round, and the Colts wasted no time making the former Stanford star a teammate of the other former Stanford star.
Where Manning once threw to blue chip tight end Dallas Clark, now it will be Luck to Fleener.
