Mario Williams heading to Buffalo
The best defensive player in this year's free agent crop may be heading to the AFC East, but not to the destination many had expected.
Texans free agent defensive end Mario Williams, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2006 draft, was thought to be a target of the Patriots, who could use a big-time pass rusher. But Williams is taking a trip to Buffalo tonight, where the Bills will entertain him and undoubtedly offer him a hefty contract in the hopes that he won't leave.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Williams is taking the trip to Buffalo, where the Bills are now flush with cap room. And the team has every intention of spending big this year, as evidenced by comments from Russ Brandon, the team's chief executive offer.
