The Jets began their Organized Team Activities (OTAs) today, and guess who was taking a few practice reps at quarterback? That's right, Mark Sanchez did some light work in 7-on-7s during practice, showing more evidence that he is well on the way to recovery after undergoing knee surgery in February.

Sanchez said last week he hoped to participate in the team's June 14-16 mini-camp, and that could very well happen.

We'll get to see Sanchez in person when the Jets open up their practice to the media on Thursday. But the mere fact that Sanchez was doing even limited work on the first day of OTAs was an encouraging sign for the second-year quarterback. Sanchez underwent surgery to repair the patella ligament in his left knee.

Newly acquired defensive end Jason Taylor had a previously scheduled charity event in South Florida today and is expected to participate in the OTAs tomorrow.
