The NFL has become a passing league like never before, and two key stats reflect the trend:

Games are averaging 485.1 passing yards, which is on pace to break the record of 462.6, set last year. And the combined league-wide passer rating for quarterbacks is currently at 86.5, which is ahead of last year's record mark of 85.6.

One other stat to note: The average number of touchdown passes is 3.12, which is on pace to be the highest since 1963 (3.21).
