NFL report: Raiders end drought vs. Chargers
After 13 straight losses to San Diego, the ball bounced Oakland's way Sunday in a 35-27 victory.
Michael Bush ran 3 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 3:39 left and Tyvon Branch returned a fumble 64 yards for a score to help end the drought.
Host Oakland (2-3) used two blocked punts, two long TD drives in the second half led by backup QB Jason Campbell and the big Branch play for their first win over San Diego (2-3) since September 2003. That was the second-longest active drought to Buffalo's 14-game losing streak to New England.
Rivers threw for 431 yards and two TDs, and Malcolm Floyd had a career-high 213 yards for San Diego.
Eagles 27, 49ers 24
Kevin Kolb passed for 253 yards while capably filling in for injured Michael Vick, and Quintin Mikell returned Alex Smith's fumble 51 yards for a TD early in the fourth quarter for visiting Philadelphia. LeSean McCoy rushed for a score and Trevard Lindley made a last-minute interception for the Eagles (3-2), who forced five turnovers and survived a late rally by the 49ers (0-5).
Cardinals 30, Saints 20
Max Hall, an undrafted rookie out of BYU, went 17-for-27 for 168 yards in his NFL debut, Jay Feely kicked three field goals and host Arizona's defense sealed the upset.
Arizona intercepted Drew Brees three times and converted two turnovers by the Saints (3-2) into TDs. Former Jet Kerry Rhodes returned Ladell Betts' fumble 27 yards for a TD and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had an INT return for a TD.
Colts 19, Chiefs 9
Mike Hart had the game's only TD on an 11-yard run as host Indianapolis (3-2) handed Kansas City (3-1) its first loss. It's the first time since 1970 that the NFL hasn't had a single team reach 4-0 in a season. Peyton Manning (244 yards, one INT) failed to top 300 yards or throw a TD for the first time this year.
Buccaneers 24, Bengals 21
Josh Freeman directed two scoring drives in the closing minutes and Connor Barth's 31-yard field goal with a second left lifted visiting Tampa Bay (3-1), which matched its win total for all last season. The Bengals (2-3) were ahead 21-14 with 2:28 to go, but Carson Palmer (three INTs, one for a TD) was picked off twice.
Ravens 31, Broncos 17
Ray Rice ran for 133 yards and two TDs, and host Baltimore (4-1) frustrated Kyle Orton and Denver (2-3).
Falcons 20, Browns 10
Defensive end Kroy Biermann leaped to tip a pass, caught the deflection with a head-first dive, rolled on the ground, alertly jumped to his feet and won a footrace for a spectacular touchdown to seal the win for visiting Atlanta (4-1) over Cleveland (1-4). "Kroy is from Montana," Falcons coach Mike Smith said. "He has probably rode a few wild broncos and bulls and been thrown off and landed on his feet. It was just a super athletic play."
Jaguars 36, Bills 26
David Garrard threw three TDs - two to tight end Marcedes Lewis - as visiting Jacksonville (3-2) rallied. Buffalo (0-5) is off to its worst start in 25 years. "It's as bad as you could possibly get," defensive tackle Kyle Williams said. "It's bad. Really bad."
Lions 44, Rams 6
Stefan Logan had a 105-yard kickoff return for a TD as host Detroit (1-4) rolled to its biggest win in 15 years. St. Louis is 2-3.
Bears 23, Panthers 6
Matt Forte rushed for 166 yards and two TDs, Julius Peppers had an acrobatic INT against his former team and visiting Chicago (4-1) overcame four INTs by backup Todd Collins to keep Carolina winless. - AP
