The NFL's director of security interviewed Vikings quarterback Brett Favre Tuesday about a role he allegedly had in sending inappropriate texts and photos to former Jets game day host Jenn Sterger when the two were with the Jets in 2008.

Milt Ahlerich spoke with Favre at an undisclosed location in Minnesota, although the league released no details of the meeting. Favre's agent, Bus Cook, attended the session.

Favre has been under investigation since the allegations were reported earlier this month by Deadspin.com. Sterger has so far not spoken to the league's security staff, which could ultimately result in Favre not being disciplined by the league. Deadspin also reported that Favre sent inappropriate texts to two massage therapists employed by the Jets.

Vikings coach Brad Childress said the team will not play a role in the investigation, and NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith said at a promotional union event in Minnesota that he would not provide any details on the quarterback's situation.

"I understand that he is meeting, or representatives have met or are meeting, with the league," Smith said, according to The Associated Press. "When we meet and talk with players, I don't intend to play it out in front of the press . . . We represent every player. Our issues are to ensure that the process is fair, and we do everything to ensure that that process is fair."

Favre has not commented specifically about the allegations, although he has not issued any denials about the Deadspin report. If Favre is suspended as a result of the investigation, he would have his consecutive games streak snapped. The streak currently stands at 290 regular-season games.
