No major lineup changes for Cowboys
Despite a 1-6 start, Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said yesterday he has no immediate plans to overhaul the starting lineup.
Phillips told reporters there won't be any overhaul for Sunday's game against the Packers, per the Dallas Morning News. "No, not really," he said when asked if he had any personnel changes in mind. "There will be different guys playing some, but as far as the starters are concerned, no."
Phillips has, however, gone back to the basics at practice, a rarity at this time of the season. On Wednesday, he had the Cowboys go through drills that are normally done in training camp. One practice routine involved offensive linemen using rudimentary blocking techniques. "Did you step with the 45-degree angle? Did you put your hand in his breast plate? These are the kind of things we're emphasizing more and more," Phillips said.
