Our Week 10 picks

Who's your favorite Ryan? Rob or Rex.

Personally, I like them both. But I hear Rex more often, so I guess I think he's a bit funnier. 

Why does this matter? It's the (extremely scientific) reason why I went with the Jets (-3) this week. Glauber, who leads all Newsday handicappers with 69 wins on the season, must like Rob, because he went with Cleveland.

Quick story before I get to the picks... The first professional football game I ever covered was on Nov. 30, 2008 when the Jets hosted the Denver Broncos. At the time, the Jets were 8-3 under the guidance of some old fart quarterback you may have heard of who does Wrangler jeans commercials.

That day, an unknown rookie running back named Peyton Hillis rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries for Denver in a 34-17 win. Starting the day, the Jets lost four of their next five to finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs. That same Hillis guy has 873 yards (644 rushing, 229 receiving) and eight touchdowns for the Browns this season.

Also, Cleveland is 6-2 against the spread at home in their last eight games, and 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 overall. 

So what's my point exactly?

Watch out Jet fans, Hillis may play grim reaper on your season again. But hey, don't sweat it ... at least you're not the Islanders.
