Our Week 6 picks

Don't look now, NFL Hot Reads namesake, but Mad Dog Mascaro is right on your tail for Newsday football handicapping supremacy.

With a 9-5 Week 5, Glauber, who went 7-7, is just two games in front of me.

So where do we differ this week? In the most intriguing matchup of the week — a battle of 1-3 teams predestined for the Super Bowl before the season started. Glauber likes Minnesota to remain breathing, while I'm going with the Cowboys and the 1 1/2 points.

As for the locals, both Glauber and I like them to cover. The Lions have lost 23 straight on the road, so that's due to end eventually, right? Not today. Expect Eli to trot off triumphantly, as he's doing in the photo above.

And let's be honest. The Jets are a juggernaut — they may never lose again.

The lock of the week is the Falcons. Why? Because they're Tom Rock's best bet, and he's a perfect 5-0 in that category. I'm 4-1, while Glauber, surprisingly, is 1-4. He went with the Saints last week. Unfortunately, both he and I have the same best bet his week — Da Bears.
