Penn State targeting Mangini?
After being rebuffed by Titans head coach Mike Munchak, Penn State officials are reportedly targeting former Jets and Browns head coach Eric Mangini for their vacant head coaching position.
Joe Paterno, college football's all-time winningest coach with a record of 409-136-3, was fired last month after news broke about sexual assaults on young boys by former Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.
Fox29 Philadelphia is reporting that Mangini is drawing interest from the school to replace Paterno.
Mangini, 40, was the Jets' head coach from 2006-08 before being fired and replaced by current head coach Rex Ryan. Mangini was tabbed as the Browns coach shortly after being let go by the Jets, and was fired after the two seasons. Mangini has a 33-47 record and had two winning seasons in the NFL.
