INDIANAPOLIS -- Plaxico Burress said he thinks his "boys" will win on Sunday. And he wasn't talking about the Jets.
Reporters and TV cameras caught up with the former Super Bowl hero as he arrived in town for the big game Wednesday night and was spotted embracing Justin Tuck at a restaurant. In a video on WNBC, Burress said he believes the Giants will be "well coached" and will "play Giants football."
"From the outside looking in, I have to go with my boys," he said. "I know my boys. I know how they get when it gets to crunch time."
Burress, who caught the winning touchdown against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, said he still has hard feelings for the Patriots, not only from that game or from his year with the Jets, but dating all the way to his time in Pittsburgh.
Burress also left the door open for a possible return to the Giants next season. His good friend Brandon Jacobs speculated Wednesday that Burress could wind up back in blue.
"I think if he stays in the area, this is where he'd want to be," Jacobs said. "But I'm not sure. I'm just speaking from [my] thoughts. It's nothing he said to me to make me think that, but I think he will definitely be a Giant."
As for his current team, Burress did not sound as if he'll be returning to the Jets.
"It went as it went," he said of his one season playing for them.
"Mark Sanchez is Mark Sanchez," he said of his quarterback.
"The Jets' locker room is the Jets' locker room," he said of the toxic atmosphere at the end of the season.
