The rematch of last year’s 4A championship game has arrived. Erasmus Hall travels to Staten Island, to 100 Luten Ave., to face Tottenville in a matchup that always carries high stakes.

For the last three years, we saw the same quarterback matchup, featuring Class of 2026 stars. Erasmus Hall’s Kendu Brown and Justus Murray against Tottenville’s Justin McGuire.

Now, there are new faces in the latest edition of this rivalry. Tommy Zeh missed the first two league games but returned two weeks ago for Erasmus Hall. The Dutchmen are a different team when he’s healthy.

He faces Tottenville quarterback Donato D’Amelio, who is quickly emerging as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the PSAL.

We know the running backs and talented playmakers both teams have, but quarterback play will be huge Friday night.

Conference 4A

Brooklyn Tech at South Shore — Saturday, 11 a.m.

A game with major playoff implications down the line. South Shore is looking to keep its postseason hopes alive. A loss would drop the Vikings to 0-4 in league play, with Erasmus Hall still on the schedule, making reaching the playoffs a tall task. The Vikings face a Brooklyn Tech team they defeated last year. But the Engineers, led by star quarterback Cole Scanlon, can put themselves in favorable playoff position with a win.

Fort Hamilton at Kennedy — Friday, 6 p.m.

The winner of this game gets a favorable path toward the No. 5 seed in the 4A playoffs, with an opportunity to climb even higher. The battle in the trenches stands out. Jireh Aleaga leads a tough Fort Hamilton line against an experienced Kennedy unit featuring Jeremy Concepcion and Edwin Arreola.

Conference 3A

Madison at Sheepshead Bay — Saturday, 11 a.m.

A rematch of last year’s 3A championship game. Madison returns most of its roster from a year ago, including stars Travys Leahy and Tobias Milord. Sheepshead Bay started 0-2 in league play. Quarterback Jayden Browne looks to lead the Sharks back to .500 in the conference.

Randolph at New Utrecht — Friday, 6 p.m.

The Utes’ magical season faces a tough test as they host the Cougars. Both teams are 3-0. New Utrecht’s offense is dynamic and experienced, led by quarterback Joseph Cangelosi and playmakers Kenneth Shaw and Jeremiah Harvey. They face a physical Randolph defense led by Anthony Pitre, Isaac Suazo and Zahiare Jones.

Conference 1A

Jefferson at Petrides — Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

Petrides boasts one of the best run defenses among PSAL small schools. Jefferson is 4-0 and has one of the conference’s top rushers in Taj Woods. The Petrides won last year’s matchup, 28-0, but Woods did not play in that game.
