-- Michael Lombardi’s hiring in Cleveland as personnel director could have an impact on second-year quarterback Brandon Weeden, the team’s first-round pick in 2012. Lombardi, a former NFL Network analyst, was a frequent critic of Weeden (pictured above)during his rookie season, once calling Weeden a “panicked disaster.”
-- Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he expects oft-injured running back Darren McFadden, a former first-round pick, to be back next season.
-- Really like what the Chargers have done with the hiring of head coach Mike McCoy and offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. That’s a lot of brain power on offense, which can only be good news for quarterback Philip Rivers.
-- Packers’ eighth-year receiver Greg Jennings figures to be one of the most sought-after players on the free agent market. Green Bay doesn’t plan on re-signing him.
