Wide receiver Mario Manningham is set to become an unrestricted free agent next month, and it would surprise no one if he's playing for a different team next season. With Manningham expected to command some significant dollars in a new deal, the Giants may be unwilling to go as high as the team's No. 3 wide receiver might want.

GM Jerry Reese declined to speculate on Manningham's future, other than to say, "I don't know" when asked about whether the receiver would return. "I don't think it's fair to frame what the odds are on that. He's a good football player. Obviously players, when free agency comes around for them, they want to make as much money as possible. We'll see how it unfolds, but he is a good football player ... Guys are free to do what they want to do. He's been a good player for us."

But Manningham is hardly the only contract issue the Giants are trying to address. They want to bring back Osi Umenyiora - and possibly extend his contract - and also hope to bring back Brandon Jacobs, although he might return at a reduced salary. Wide receiver Victor Cruz, who moved ahead of Manningham on the depth chart last season, is also looking for a new deal.
