Report: Nutrisystem drops Lawrence Taylor as diet pitchman
The public relations fallout for Lawrence Taylor in the wake of being charged with third-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl continues.
According to TMZ.com, the popular diet program, Nutrisystems, has dropped Taylor (pictured) from its commericals.
TMZ quoted a spokesman who said, "We are shocked and saddened by these very serious allegations against Lawrence Taylor. Based on the severity of these allegations, Nutrisystem has made the decision to sever our relationship with Mr. Taylor effective immediately."
The company has reportedly replaced Taylor with Padres outfielder/pinch-hitter Matt Stairs.
