Shahid Khan approved as Jags owner
Illinois businessman Shahid Khan has been unanimously approved by NFL owners to purchase the Jaguars from Wayne Weaver, the original owner of the former expansion team.
Khan is the first Pakistani-born owner of a team. He had previously attempted to purchase the Rams before agreeing to buy the Jacksonville team last month.
Khan has repeatedly said he has no plans to move the team from Jacksonville, despite attendance problems in one of the league's smallest markets.
Khan's first order of business will be hiring a full-time coach to replace Jack Del Rio, who was fired last month.
