Curtis Martin: Pete Carroll is 'the real deal'
Curtis Martin and Pete Carroll only played one season together, but the Seahawks coach did enough to make a lasting impression on his Hall of Fame running back.
Martin played for Carroll in 1997, when Carroll was in his first season as head coach of the New England Patriots. Martin rushed for 1,160 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games as the Patriots went 10-6 and won the AFC East.
"Pete's the real deal," Martin said Monday at a Super Bowl media event atop the Empire State Building. "As good as he already was, with another [16] years of experience, I can see why they're here."
