When Tim Tebow signed a two-year deal with the Patriots, there was plenty of speculation that Bill Belichick had big plans for the former Broncos and Jets quarterback.

But after Tebow failed to get as much as a single snap in last night's preseason game against the Lions, it looks like there's a good chance Tebow will not be part of the team's plans for the 2013 season.

Yup, Tebow stayed on the sidelines the whole way, and Belichick's explanation was hardly an endorsement. Asked why Tebow didn't play, Belichick said simply, "Because we played two quarterbacks." Only Tom Brady and backup Ryan Mallett saw action in the game. Tebow was hardly awe-inspiring in his two previous preseason games. Last week, he was just 1-of-7 with an interception against the Buccaneers.

Now it remains to be seen when the Patriots will part ways with Tebow. Will it be between now and their final preseason game next Thursday against the Giants? Or will they wait until the final cutdown?

Either way, it looks like Tebow Time is up in New England.

And after an ill-fated run with the Jets last year, this could be the end of Tebow Time in the NFL.
