The 'Black Monday' list is long

The first Monday after the final NFL regular season game is a bad one for plenty of coaches with losing record, and today was no exception. A look at those who got the gate: 

* Andy Reid, Eagles. Was the longest-tenured coach in the NFL since 1999. 

* Ken Whisenhunt, Cardinals. Doesn't seem all that long ago he went to the Super Bowl with Kurt Warner. 

* Romeo Crennel, Chiefs. Got the job on an interim basis last year, but  couldn't translate as full-time head coach. Chiefs at 2-14 in 2012. 

* Lovie Smith, Bears. Went to the Super Bowl after the 2006 season, but failure to make this year's playoffs did him in. 

* Norv Turner, Chargers. He and A.J. Smith get booted at the same time. 

* Pat Shurmur, Browns. Not a surprise once Jimmy Haslam purchased the team during the season. 

* Chan Gailey, Bills. Couldn't turn things around in three seasons. 

The coaching carousel may still have a few more openings before it's all over. Still in limbo: Mike Mularkey in Jacksonville and Ron Rivera in Carolina aren't assured of being back.
