With Darrelle Revis reporting swelling and soreness in his hamstring after last night’s game against the Vikings, reporters put the question to Rex Ryan this morning about whether Revis should play in Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

While Ryan was non-committal about his plans for his star cornerback, there is no doubt in the Twitter world’s view about Revis. When we put the question to our Twitter followers (twitter.com/BobGlauber), the vote was nearly unanimous: sit Revis for at least this week and use the ensuing bye week to make sure he's back to 100 percent.

A sampling of the responses: @Festar316 writes: “Should have sat until after the bye to begin with. Should be thinking about the bigger picture here not just Randy Moss.”

Says @awolffster: “If he's got a chance to injure it further, bench him...but I as a fan am getting frustrated by his lack of play following holdout.”

@Bender53 writes: “sit him, cromartie did fine on moss so I’d expect the same thing going into Denver. Jets handled pats w/o him, too.

And @mcohen2 makes his opinion abundantly clear by writing: “sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit.”

Only one tweep suggested Revis should play. But even @AdamNYR qualified that assessment by writing: “If it’s not reinjured, play him. Conditioning a concern, no?”

We’ll be weighing in with our own thoughts in tomorrow’s newspaper. Will give both Revis and Rex an earful.
