"When someone is playing at the level Michael Vick is playing, you have to give him an opportunity," Reid said.

Vick had 284 yards passing and two TDs in a 35-32 win at Detroit on Sunday.

Kolb missed the last six quarters because of a concussion. Kolb was cleared to practice and was expected to run the first-team offense Wednesday before Reid reversed his decision.

Bush may not miss season

Reggie Bush broke his right leg in the Saints' 25-22 victory over the 49ers Monday night, but the running back is expected to be sidelined about six weeks, not the rest of the season, a person familiar with the injury said.

The bone in Bush's lower right leg was broken when he recovered his muffed punt with 6:58 left. He was injured during the scrum after he dove for the ball and players landed on him.

Faulk has torn ACL

Patriots running back Kevin Faulk has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee, according to a report in The Boston Globe, which cited an NFL source. Faulk, 34, suffered the injury when he was shoved out of bounds by Jets cornerback Drew Coleman in the fourth quarter of the Patriots' 28-14 loss Sunday.

Steelers' Dixon out

Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon will have left knee surgery today and is out indefinitely, meaning Byron Leftwich or Charlie Batch will start Sunday at Tampa Bay. Dixon was hurt at Tennessee on Sunday.

Texans' Brown suspended

Houston left tackle Duane Brown was suspended for four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs, joining Texans linebacker Brian Cushing on the sideline for the same offense . . . The NFL fined Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh $15,000 for impermissible verbal and physical contact with an official during Sunday's loss to the Bengals.

Broncos: No hint of suicide

Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said in a tearful news conference that nobody in the organization saw any hint that wide receiver Kenny McKinley was suicidal before he took his life. McKinley's body was discovered on Monday. - AP
