Vikings release McKinnie
Well, that didn't take long.
After reporting to Vikings training camp overweight and out of shape, former first-round offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie was told today that he has been released.
The Vikings knew in advance that McKinnie was not in good condition, because they attempted to sign free agent tackle Jermon Bushrod of the Saints before signing Colts tackle Charlie Johnson on Monday.
"This decision, while not an easy one, is in the best interests of our football team as we move forward," coach Leslie Frazier told reporters.
