Who's going 1-10, 19 and 30 in the NFL Draft

Here's a mini mock draft compiled by Hot Reads' Bob Glauber:

1. Panthers: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn. Panthers still have concerns about whether Newton can make the transition into the NFL, but his upside is huge.

2. Broncos: Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama. John Fox’s first pick in Carolina was defensive end Julius Peppers. Fox gets another stud defender in Dareus to help Denver’s woeful defense.

3. Bills: Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M. Bills may go with quarterback Blaine Gabbert, but it’s tough to pass up on Miller, the best pass rusher in this year’s draft.

4. Bengals: A.J. Green, WR, Georgia. Terrell Owens isn’t coming back, and Chad Ochocinco is 33. Time for an upgrade at receiver. Now, about that quarterback situation . . .

5. Cardinals: Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri. Ken Whisenhunt is still looking for an adequate replacement for Kurt Warner. He’d be delighted to see Gabbert fall to him.

6. Browns: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU. The Browns covet Green, but if he’s gone, there’s nothing wrong with Peterson as a complement to fellow first-rounder Joe Haden.

7. 49ers: Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina. Plenty of needs for the Niners, including quarterback. But Quinn is a terrific value at No. 7 and can provide a long-term upgrade.

8. Titans: Prince Amukamara, Nebraska. Titans need a quarterback, and Ryan Mallett is a possibility. But the safer choice this high is Amukamara, the Cornhuskers’ outstanding cover corner.

9. Cowboys: Tyron Smith, T, USC. Cowboys have had big problems on the offensive line the last two seasons.

10. Redskins: Julio Jones, WR, Alabama. Mike Shanahan likes Jake Locker, but this high? Redskins need a big-time receiver, especially if Santana Moss leaves as a free agent.

19: Giants: Mike Pouncey, C/G, Florida. If Anthony Castonzo is off the board, the Giants can use the pick on Pouncey, whose twin brother, Maurkice, is a brilliant center for Pittsburgh. The Giants need to think about life after Shaun O’Hara.

30. Jets: Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor. With Kris Jenkins gone, Rex Ryan can plug Taylor in at nose tackle and get that big-body presence in the middle.
