Ben Curtis won the Texas Open Sunday in San Antonio for his first PGA Tour title since 2006. He held off Matt Every and John Huh in a tense back-nine finish for a two-stroke victory.

Curtis birdied the par-5 18th for an even-par 72 and a four-round, 9-under 279 total.

It was an emotional win for the 2003 British Open winner who had only limited tour status after a long slump.

"It's been a tough couple years just fighting through it," Curtis said, fighting back tears.

Curtis wasn't the only emotional player on No. 18. Scott Piercy walked to the final hole tied for fourth at 5 under but walked off snapping his putter in half. That was after the tour journeyman quadruple-bogeyed in a meltdown that started with a penalty stroke and ended with him tossing his glove in disgust.

Matt Kuchar, the tournament's top-ranked player at No. 15, had a 73 to finish at 2 under.

Frost, Allen win Legends

David Frost and Michael Allen shot a better-ball 10-under 62 for a 29-under three-round 187 total and a one-stroke victory over John Cook and Joey Sindelar in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf championship in Savannah, Ga.

Amazing Grace

Branden Grace won the China Open in Tianjin for his third European Tour victory of the year, closing with a 3-under 69 to hold off 2011 winner Nicolas Colsaerts by three strokes. South African Grace, 23, finished at 21-under 267 for four rounds at Binhai Lake.

Westwood defends title

Third-ranked Lee Westwood defended his Indonesian Masters title with a two-stroke victory in Jakarta. Westwood had a 2-over 74 in his final round at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club for a 16-under, four-round 272 total.

8th victory for Miyazato

Japan's Ai Miyazato won the LPGA Lotte Championship by four shots in Kapolei, Hawaii, on Saturday for her eighth career LPGA Tour title. Miyazato finished with a 2-under 70 for a 12-under, four-round 276 total at wind-swept Ko Olina.

Top-ranked Yani Tseng (74) overcame an ankle injury to tie for 10th. She has finished in the top 10 in all seven of her LPGA Tour starts this year. -- AP
