Dennis Lynch wins another Met Mid-Am
Dennis Lynch of the Nassau Players Club won the Metropolitan Golf Association Mid-Am Championship for the second consecutive year. He finished this one today at even par 144 through 36 holes at GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills.
Lynch, a Suffolk County Police Department officer, won last year at The Creek. He ended with a touch of class, holding a wedge way down on the grip handle and whacking at the ball from the lip of a bunker near the 18th green, he put the ball within three feet of the hole and made a tap-in par.
That clinched a two-stroke win over Hans Albertsson, who plays out of Bethpage.
Both players earned exemptions into next year's Met Mid-Am, which is for golfers 25 and older.
