Colin Dolph of Huntington, the Long Island Golf Association's Michael Hebron Amateur champion, and Greg Etimos of East Islip each shot 2-under-par 142 through 36 holes at Tam O'Shanter Club in Brookville and emerged from a four-way playoff Wednesday to qualify for the U.S. Amateur.

Dolph had said after his win in the Hebron last month, "I'll play the amateur events and see where I am at the end of the year. Of course, I'd like to go down to Florida and play professionally on the mini-tours, but it's all just timing."

The U.S. Amateur will be Aug. 23-28 at Erin Hills, Wis., site of the 2017 U.S. Open.

Jay Sessa of Garden City was the medalist yesterday with a 1-over-par 72 at Elmwood in White Plains in a qualifier for the U.S. Senior Amateur.
