Bob Bubka, the East End native who is an international golf radio announcer and analyst, made a splash in Europe last June when he went on an interview show in the British Isles and predicted that Lucas Glover would win the U.S. Open. His prediction caused a rush of action on Glover with the legal bookmakers over there, causing them to lose a bundle when the unheralded Glover unexpectedly won at Bethpage.

Bubka was asked again this week by his European friends who he is picking for the Masters. He explained that the bookies woul have his head if he made a public prediction again. But he added that if he were allowed to, he would say it would be Retief Goosen.
