Long Island amateurs Alan Specht (Nassau Players Club), Chris O'Keefe (Bethpage) and David Jankowski (Montauk Downs) tied with former Long Island Open champion Abbie Valentine of Bethpage as medalists Tuesday in the local qualifier for the Met Open. Each shot 4-under-par 68 at Port Jefferson Country Club. Also among the 12 qualifiers were Joe Saladino, low amateur in the New York State Open last week, and Tarik Can, who shot 65 on Bethpage Black in the same tournament. The Met Open will be at the Black Aug. 24-26.

Scott Ford of North Hills won the Met PGA Professional Championship Tuesday at Rockland Country Club, leading 10 qualifiers for the 2011 PGA Professional National Championship.
