Hwang of Hauppauge makes U.S. Amateur
Brian Hwang of Hauppauge, a former Suffolk High School champion and now a junior at the University of Connecticut, qualified Tuesday for the U.S. Amateur Championship to be held later this month at Chambers Bay in Washington. Hwang shot 2-under par through 36 holes at Manhattan Woods in West Nyack, placing third in a field of 79 golfers. Only four qualified.
