Joe Saladino 1 under at U.S. Amateur

 Joe Saladino of Huntington shot 1 under par and was among the leaders after his first day of stroke play at the U.S. Amateur Championship being held at Chambers Bay in Washington state. Saladino was tied for 15th through the morning wave. The top 64 through the second round Tuesday make it to match play. Jim Liu of Smithtown was in the afternoon wave and was 1 over at the turn. Brian Hwang of Hauppauge shot 83.
