Joe Saladino of Huntington Country Club made the cut at the U.S. Amateur and advanced to match play, which begins Wednesday at Chambers Bay.

Saladino, one of the proprietors of Drive 495 in Manhattan, finished the two rounds of stroke play at two Washington state courses at 5-over, tied for 48th and secure among the 64 who made it to match play. Still no word on his first match or starting time.

Jim Liu, the 15-year-old from Smithtown, finished two shots off the cut line. It was still a good and productive week. He tied for 95th, which means he beat two-thirds of the 312-member field composed of the best amateurs in the country
