Joe Saladino shoots 63 at Nassau Country Club
A big week for Joe Saladino. He played really well during the U.S. Mid-Amateur at Atlantic GC (and the Bridge), making it through stroke play and winning two matches before losing to Phil Mickelson's brother in round three.
He entered the Nassau Invitational at venerable Nassau Country Club in hopes of earning MGA Player of the Year honors and put himself in terrific position. He shot 7-under par 63 Saturday and took an eight-shot lead halfway through the 36-hole championship.
