LIer Liu wins title, surpasses Tiger
Jim Liu, 14, of Smithtown just finished a 4 and 2 win over Justin Thomas in the U.S. Junior Amateur and became the youngest winner in that event's history. The Junior Amateur Championship is one of the 13 tournaments run by the U.S. Golf Association, a list that also includes the U.S. Open,
Liu not only bested Thomas, 17, of Goshen, Ky., he outdid Tiger Woods, who had been the youngest champion at 15.
