Mickelson and Tiger are in a Bogie Mood
Phil Mickelson hit a good tee shot but left his approach shot on the front portion of the green. His birdie putt fell short, and he would miss the par opportunity. He is now three in back of McDowell, who tees off in eight minutes.
After birdies at four, five and six and a par at seven, Tiger's bogie at eight gives him three on the day. He moves back to Even for the round and +4 for the tournament.
Ernie Els, two-time Open champ, just hit his first-hole tee shot on the first in the right-side rough.
